As a senior member of the team you will lead the creation of new use cases / AI products.Your contribution will underpin commercial / strategy decisions in the energy transition.We are looking for a Desk Data Scientist with strong Machine Learning skills, a (hands on) 'individual contributor' with excellent consulting skills and a strong technical / coding background.Responsibilities include: Thought leadership of new ways of how to apply data science to structured / unstructured data sets within a complex / global brand.Identification and prioritization for projects in a dynamic environment, with a keen eye for where ‘maximum value’ can be delivered.Applying machine learning models / optimization in creative ways to heterogeneous data sets.Taking concepts from POC into production / working with global development teamsCode reviews and experimental design of new solutions / mentoring members of the teamAlways seeking new ways of utilizing data / providing solutions that make impactQualifications (Hard Skills):• MSc or PhD level Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, Mathematics (Russell Group)• 4+ years of hands-on experience in applying data science as a Data Scientist, Quant Researcher, or Quant Developer• Python (3), high level of capability in writing understandable / extensible code• Experience of data storage platforms (SQL, NoSQL, Map-Reduce frameworks etc.)• Proven track record of developing trading strategies / insights for front office users• Experience presenting data visually (Plotly, D3, Tableau).• Time-series modelling (ML / econometrics)• Enterprise software development (code design, review, gitflow, etc.)• Cloud-based data science workflows (on AWS in particular)• Deep Learning (able to translate deep learning models)• Experience in Energy / Commodities (in an alpha generating role)Soft Skills:• Self-Motivation / discipline• People first / natural collaboration skills• Able to work independently / in teams through all levels of an organisation• Team player / unpolitical working style
