We’re looking for a talented Electronics Assembly Technician to join our fast-paced, innovative team developing next-generation surgical technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electronic assembly, wiring, soldering, and testing of PCB-based systems, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. Working closely with our engineering and R&D teams, you’ll play a key role in building and refining complex medical devices through all stages of development — from prototype to production. Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
• Rapid assembly of prototype PCBs, sourced from external board manufacturers. These will range from medium to miniature scale.
• Bring-up testing of assembled PCBs.
• Manufacture of wiring harnesses.
• Finding and testing the capabilities of external 13485 accredited electronics assemblers and suppliers.
• Assembly of PCBs into hardware products.
• Providing feedback into the design process
• Undertaking R&D to propose potential improvements to electronic designs and their production and assembly methods.
Qualifications
Applicants must be EU nationals or have permanent leave to remain in the UK and should demonstrate that they possess the following attributes:
Essential Requirements
• Comfortable soldering miniature SMD packages using benchtop equipment (e.g. oven, hotplate or hot air). This will include 0201 size and small BGA (e.g. 5 × 7 × 0.5 mm) components.
• Substantial experience in building and assembling electronic PCBs.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
