General Mechanic
Due to successful growth year after year, my client is looking for a General Mechanic - specifically to do Gearbox Fitting
Location: Near Highbridge
Salary: 38K to 45k DOE
Job Type: Full-Time, permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm

Removing and refitting transmissions and drive train systems including clutches and dual mass flywheels
Performing diagnostic checks and road tests
Preparing the workshop each morning and securing vehicles at close
Maintaining a clean and organised work space
Liaising with the office and workshop team
Accurately following job sheets and instructionsMechanic/ Gearbox Fitter / Technician Criteria:
Previous experience of working as a Drive Train Fitter - preferred but not essential
Experience as a Semi-Skilled Vehicle Mechanic - Minimum 3 years essential with IMI level 3 in hybrid / electrical vehicle repair preferred
Strong mechanical knowledge
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
Able to work independently and safely with minimal supervision
Good communication and listening skills
Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail
Must own a set of tools
Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret fault codes (especially for automatic systems)
Excellent attention to detail and safety
Physically able to handle heavy vehicle components
Full UK Driving Licence is essential
