Secondary Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Temporary)

£444 - £500 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience required for this position is experience in a similar position or 5 days in sole charge of a group of children in the last 5 years.

The School and Role
ABC Teachers are recruiting for a dedicated and proactive Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Hall Green, Birmingham. This long-term, full-time position will begin in September 2025 and run throughout the academic year. In this role, you will support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, assisting students in and out of lessons, helping to manage behaviour, and working closely with teachers to ensure pupils reach their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in education or progress towards teacher training.

Requirements
The successful Teaching Assistant will have;
* Experience working with secondary-aged students (either in a school, tutoring, or youth work setting)
* A patient, resilient, and caring attitude
* A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
* Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
* All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
