We’re currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor, within the Home Improvement Agency to support the team with the delivery of the disabled adaptations to public and private properties and other related works.
Responsibilities
* Delivering multiple construction projects concurrently from inception to completion.
* Working closely with Occupational Therapists to deliver property adaptations that meet customers’ needs.
* Undertaking feasibility surveys and produce specifications of work.
* Monitoring disabled adaptations onsite to ensure quality and compliance.
* Collaborating with in-house architects to coordinate the delivery of domestic extensions.
* Managing projects through statutory planning and building regulations stages.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
* Assisting with implementing project-specific financial procurement controls such as agreeing and approving valuations and managing variations, payments, and invoices.
* Monitoring onsite work in accordance with contractors’ method statements and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
* Ensuring Health and Safety standards are upheld throughout project delivery.
* Working collaboratively with project team members, clients, and customers to ensure smooth project execution.
* Maintaining a strong emphasis on delivering excellent customer service that meets needs and exceeds expectations.
This will be achieved by focusing on the four main key areas: Customer Satisfaction, Quality Control, Health & Safety and providing technical support and advice.
Qualifications / Candidate Profile
* Hold a relevant building / surveying qualification or have equivalent, relevant professional experience.
* Experience as a Building Surveyor delivering disabled adaptations, capital investment projects, and maintenance and refurbishment contracts within the social housing sector. Experience of working on DFG/Adaptation contracts desirable, but not essential.
* Experience of procurement, cost evaluation and project control and an understanding of contractor performance within a social housing environment.
* SMSTS qualification or other equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
* Experience of effectively managing all aspects of a project and ensuring compliance with contract documentation.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
