Role Summary Reporting directly to the Business Unit Director (BUD), the Head of Engineering plays a pivotal role within the Aerospace New Product Introduction (NPI) Team. This position carries overall responsibility for both strategic leadership and operational execution within the engineering function. Key to success in this role is the demonstrated ability to lead critical engineering projects and teams, managing expectations across a wide range of stakeholders. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence at all levels are essential. This role demands a high level of initiative, resilience, and decisiveness—especially under pressure—while consistently meeting demanding project timelines. Key Responsibilities Define and communicate the Engineering vision and strategic roadmap, inspiring and guiding the team to deliver innovative product designs that support aggressive growth targets. Lead the end-to-end engineering process—from concept development through to successful product launch. Ensure engineering outputs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with project specifications, corporate goals, and long-term strategies. Own quality, cost, and delivery performance of all engineering project deliverables. Uphold technical and safety standards throughout all stages of project execution, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Implement and enforce Configuration Management Procedures to ensure full alignment with quality management systems. Apply strong knowledge of functional development processes including hardware, software, mechanical systems, testing, validation, and certification. Foster a culture of continuous improvement across engineering practices. Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to shape the future product roadmap, identifying opportunities for cross-industry technology application. Evaluate and enhance engineering tools and processes to meet evolving business needs. Strategically allocate resources and align team capabilities with current and future business demands. Identify skill gaps and implement development strategies to ensure a future-ready engineering team. Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the Heads-Up Technologies Group to ensure successful project planning and delivery.Required Experience & Qualifications Aerospace industry experience is preferred. Proven success in a senior engineering leadership role with responsibility for setting strategic direction, defining objectives, and delivering complex plans. Strong understanding of design for manufacture and related engineering processes. Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of inspiring and developing high-performing teams. Demonstrated ability to manage technical requirements and lead cross-functional initiatives. Experience driving organizational change and developing high-functioning engineering structures.
