FCRMS Asset Management Business Systems Team Senior Advisor

Job Overview
The Environment Agency is creating a Net Zero Carbon organisation and this role supports the asset management business system that integrates carbon tools into infrastructure programmes and asset management. The Senior Advisor will support users of operational carbon tools, deliver and improve services, and work closely with IT suppliers, EA colleagues and external stakeholders such as local authorities, water companies, civil engineering supply chains and line‑management teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Support EA and external users of operational carbon tools.
* Manage and deliver a range of services to users of carbon tools.
* Agree, maintain and improve services with various user groups.
* Act as a senior product user for digital improvement projects of carbon tools and data.
* Plan and manage user activity during the implementation of carbon tool changes and improvements.
* Manage resources and funding for carbon tools support and maintenance.
* Collaborate with operational carbon communities and national leads as required.
* Work with IT suppliers and cross‑departmental teams, including FCRM, Operations and Defra’s Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS).
Qualifications & Experience
* Significant experience and knowledge of carbon management in infrastructure assets, projects or programmes.
* Experience in asset management and/or infrastructure business processes.
* Experience in digital tool development or user implementation services.
* Experience in the development of training and documentation.
* Knowledge and skills in stakeholder engagement and effective communication.
* Ability to analyse, evaluate and implement improved ways of working.
* Strong focus on efficiency, innovation and quality; ability to take decisions and solve complex business problems.
* Strong focus on customers and partners and ability to build and sustain relationships.
* Ability to work independently and manage one’s own initiative.
Employment Conditions
The role is predominantly office‑based; occasional travel is required. Primary employment type: Full‑time. Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level. Competitions will be scheduled from week commencing 1st December 2025. The Environment Agency is not part of the Civil Service; continuous service is not applicable. However, for those who are currently working in local government or other bodies listed in the Redundancy Payments (Continuity of Employment in Local Government etc) (Modification) Order 1999, you may be eligible for continuous service.
