A secondary school in the B16 area of Birmingham is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Media Teacher to join the team from September 2025 on a full-time maternity cover basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Media Studies department, delivering engaging lessons, and maintaining high standards across the subject.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach Media Studies to KS4 and KS5 students (GCSE and A-Level/BTEC where applicable)
* Lead planning, delivery, and assessment within the Media department
* Manage departmental resources and coordinate schemes of work
* Foster creativity and critical thinking through practical and theoretical media content
* Support student progress through effective feedback and intervention
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and extracurricular media activities
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Proven experience teaching Media Studies at secondary level
* Confidence in managing and leading a subject area
* Strong understanding of both traditional and digital media
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
