An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our Electronic Patient Record ("EPR") team on a 15 months fixed term basis. Working closely with the Finance Business Partner this is a role which is focused on delivering high quality finance, planning and reporting information to support the Trust's EPR implementation by providing financial information, analysis and advice.
Based in the finance department within the hospital, the team work closely with operational EPR colleagues to support robust financial management and control. The role advertised is vital in ensuring robust, accurate and timely reporting.
The post holder will have a key role in ensuring the effective use of resources through providing high quality financial information, advice and support. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with a real commitment to excellent service delivery and great communication skills., Production of timely internal financial reports and statutory annual returns for Programme, ensuring that work is completed within financial timescales and legal requirements
Analyse/monitor budgets, providing financial advice to EPR programme team, investigating variances, interpreting outcomes & suggesting corrective actions
Act as initial contact for programme managers to investigate issues arising from budget statements, analysing complex and potentially sensitive information and forecasting trends with the ability to convey financial and corporate issues to non-finance professionals, including representing finance within EPR management/governance meetings; at times, providing report on finances
Design and produce complex spreadsheets for use in finance and other Trust departments, to support strategic decision making
Monitor and control financial aspects of ESR; completion and reconciliation of EPR expenditure report to ensure consistency with financial ledger & establishment controls
Calculate effect of changes to service delivery, skill mix or from external sources, forecasting impact on financial position supporting strategic decision making with trend analysis/forecasting
Budgetary control, including managing upload of reconciled budgets, ensuring regular maintenance and updates ensuring changes are fully reconciled between general ledger and budget reconciliation sheets
Support wider financial management team, in particular corporate services team, with shared tasks
