Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Skip Wagon Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a skip wagon lorry, ensuring the safe and efficient collection and delivery of waste materials across various locations. Responsibilities
* Safely operate a Class 2 HGV skip wagon in accordance with all relevant road safety and vehicle regulations
* Collect and deliver skips to designated sites, ensuring timely service delivery
* Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or issues promptly
* Assist with loading and unloading skips when necessary, adhering to health and safety guidelines
* Maintain accurate records of journeys, deliveries, and collections in compliance with company procedures
* Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and environmental regulations during daily operations
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues that arise during shifts
Qualifications
* Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
* Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with skip wagons or similar vehicles
* Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial drivers
* Experience with flatbed or similar specialised vehicles is desirable but not essential
* Delivery driver experience is advantageous, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple jobs
* Ability to operate vehicle controls confidently and perform basic vehicle maintenance checks
