Our client is a well-known and established business in the manufacturing sector seeking a project engineer to join their small and busy team. With a huge CAPEX plan over the next 5 years, the successful candidate will be involved in a variety of projects across various sites in Scotland that have different manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for multifunctional project delivery across a wide range including process environments, FMCG, packaging environments, offices, facilities, and new builds. Key responsibilities include:
* Work with customers to develop engineering projects in line with the 5-year capital plan.
* Identify & develop engineering solutions to deliver cost-effective projects across various sites and operations as well as other company assets.
* Develop project scopes, specifications, and budgets to enable effective CAPEX budget applications.
* Develop project justifications with customers.
* Manage the delivery of assigned capital projects within the agreed scope, budget, and timeframe.
* Ensure a strong interface with operational and compliance stakeholders.
* Development of engineering history files for all projects.
* Management of contractors, ensuring compliance with all company requirements and legal legislation.
* Provide periodic progress updates against assigned projects to management and customers identifying risks, opportunities, and any remedial action plans required.
* Support management of the capital budget and CAPEX approval process.
* Ensure that project delivery incorporates customer training.
* Continuously seek improvement.
* Participate in and support business improvement initiatives.
* Fault finding and repairs on plant equipment ensuring best working practices are used to eliminate repeat failures.
