Job Title: Business Development Manager - Flat Roofing
Due to continuing company growth, a leading manufacturer within the flat roofing market is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive UK sales through Architects, Specifiers & Main Contractors. This role is ideal for a sales professional with experience in construction, building materials, and/or roofing industries.

Location & Travel
Home-based, covering the UK, ideally with a central location within the UK. Suitable locations include Northampton, Nottingham, Birmingham, Leicester, Coventry, Derby, Milton Keynes, Bedford, and Luton.
Job Description
This is a new role vital to our growth within the UK. Working alongside Project Sales Managers and the technical team, you will meet with Architects, Specifiers, and Main Contractors to increase sales.
Main Responsibilities
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the UK flat roofing sector, targeting industry players, contractors, and specifiers.
2. Report to the Director, involved in all sales stages, balancing 80% new business development and 20% account management.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to provide market insights for new product development.
4. Engage with customers, manage relationships, and provide excellent post-sales support.
5. Report on sales performance, competitor activity, and industry trends.
Person Specification
Self-confident and capable of growing sales within the flat roofing market. Sector experience is preferred, but candidates from related backgrounds who can quickly adapt will also be considered.
* Proven experience in developing new business, sales, or account management in construction, building materials, or roofing industries.
* Strong understanding of the UK roofing market, including trends and technical aspects.
* Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to identify and target new business opportunities.
Likely previous roles include Business Development Manager, National Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Sales Director, or similar positions in construction, roofing, or building products sectors.
