Every fostering placement begins long before a child moves in.
It begins with a careful conversation, a thoughtful assessment, and a social worker who knows how to see not only risk, but potential.
At Care Visions, our Form F Assessors play a crucial role in making sure the right families are approved in the right way. A high-quality assessment protects children, supports foster carers, and helps placements last. Done well, it is one of the most important pieces of safeguarding work in the system.
We are expanding due to new innovations to promote fostering options with our stakeholders, and we are looking for experienced, social workers to join us as Self-Employed Form F Assessors.
You will work flexibly, with professional autonomy, while being well supported by an experienced fostering team and leadership.
About Care Visions
Care Visions Fostering is an established independent fostering service currently operating across Scotland. We are committed to relationship-based, child-centred practice that helps children and young people feel safe, understood and able to thrive. Our assessments are thorough but humane, grounded in analysis, curiosity with respect.
The Role
You will undertake comprehensive Form F assessments of prospective foster carers, working to agreed timescales and high professional standards.
Assessments will be completed using the CoramBAAF framework and will involve home visits, interviews and liaison with professionals. You may also present your assessment to panel where required.
This is a flexible role offered on a case-by-case basis, allowing you to manage your workload alongside other commitments.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete detailed Form F assessments using the CoramBAAF framework
* Undertake home visits, interviews and statutory checks
* Produce clear, analytical and evidence-based reports
* Work collaboratively with applicants, supervising social workers and professionals
* Present assessments to fostering panels when required
Experience & Knowledge
* Minimum 2 years post-qualifying social work experience
* Demonstrable experience completing Form F assessments (essential)
* Strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding and child development
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker
* Registered with SSSC
Requirements
* Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship)
* Based in Scotland
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car
* PVG / Disclosure check
