Technical Operations Manager - Disrepair, Damp & Mould
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: South London
Contract: Permanent, Full - Time
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Technical Operations Manager to lead on complex repairs areas including disrepair, damp & mould, leaks, and structural defects within a social hosuing setting. This is a technically focused role requiring strong diagnostic expertise and the ability to manage complex cases from investigation through to resolution.
You will manage a team of 3-4 technical professionals and act as a subject matter expert, providing leadership, guidance, and assurance across high-risk and high-profile cases.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the organisation's approach to disrepair, damp & mould, leaks, and complex technical repairs
2. Manage and develop 3-4 direct reports, providing technical leadership and mentoring
3. Oversee complex case investigations, surveys, and remedial programmes
4. Act as the technical lead for legal disrepair cases, supporting evidence preparation and resolution
5. Ensure technical solutions are compliant with building regulations, health & safety standards, and best practice
6. Work closely with legal teams, contractors, surveyors, and internal stakeholders
7. Drive continuous improvement in technical standards, policies, and procedures
8. Monitor contractor performance, cost control, and quality of works delivered
9. Provide expert advice and guidance across the wider repairs and asset management teams
Skills & Experience Required
10. Significant experience in a technical repairs or asset management role, ideally within housing or property services
11. Strong technical knowledge of damp & mould, disrepair, leaks, building pathology, and defect diagnosis
12. Proven people management experience, including leading technical teams
13. Experience managing complex, high-risk cases and working with legal disrepair processes
14. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
15. Ability to interpret technical reports, surveys, and regulatory requirements
