Role Overview
We are recruiting newly qualified Band 5 and experienced Band 6 midwives to join our maternity team across York and Scarborough hospital and community settings. You will work as part of a well‑trained, well‑led multidisciplinary team, delivering evidence‑based care to promote safe outcomes and positive experiences for women and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and support the physical and psychological well‑being of pregnant, labouring and postpartum women and their families.
* Risk assess, monitor and care for women on low‑ and high‑risk pathways throughout the continuum of pregnancy and the postpartum period.
* Demonstrate a comprehensive range of knowledge and practice using current evidence‑based research and contribute to the development of midwifery within the trust.
* Teach, supervise, support and assess student midwives and colleagues, fostering a culture of high standards, continuous learning, psychological safety and teamwork.
* Work within the framework of the NMC Midwives Code of Practice, trust guidelines and protocols. Deployment outside normal settings may be required based on clinical risk and service need.
Qualifications & Experience
* Filtered for newly qualified Band 5 or experienced Band 6 midwives.
* Relevant qualifications and registration with the NMC.
