Salary: Up to £32,324.00 per year (depending on experience, training, and qualifications)
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Children’s Nurse to join our Paediatric Day Surgery Ward. The nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Our services include elective surgeries in Orthopaedics, Dental, Urology, and ENT specialties.
Responsibilities
* Provide age-appropriate, evidence-based nursing care for children in various clinical settings.
* Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes, and perform clinical observations, treatments, and interventions safely.
* Administer medications and treatments following NMC and organizational guidelines.
* Collaborate with families and carers, offering information, reassurance, and emotional support.
* Involve parents in care planning and discharge processes, supporting recovery and wellbeing.
* Communicate effectively with children using appropriate techniques.
Candidate Requirements
* Registered Nurse (Children / Paediatrics) with valid NMC registration.
* Experience in pediatric nursing, either in hospital or community settings.
* Strong communication and family liaison skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment.
* Understanding of safeguarding, child development, and family dynamics.
* Experience in pediatric specialties such as surgical, oncology, outpatient, or day case care.
* Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) or Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
* Knowledge of CQC standards and clinical governance.
* Experience in private healthcare or elective care is advantageous.
