Knowledge and Information Management Co-ordinator Salary: £32,946 - £33,705 Location: Bristol Plus generous Civil Service defined benefit pension About us The Office for Students (OfS) is the independent regulator of higher education in England. About the role The Knowledge and Information Management Co-ordinator plays a key role in supporting the organisation to manage information and knowledge effectively. Working in the Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) team, the postholder will help to ensure that internal and external queries are dealt with, and case work is co-ordinated across the team. You will also contribute to information lifecycle management and provide administrative support on projects and other work as required. Key responsibilities include: - Managing KIM general mailboxes, including providing first-line advice and guidance for queries, and prioritising, allocating and/or escalating issues. - Logging and co-ordinating handling of information rights request, including Freedom of Information requests and requests for personal data under data protection law. - Supporting management of the lifecycle of all records from creation to archiving, storage and eventual review/transfer and or/destruction. This is a varied role in a busy and supportive team. You’ll be engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support them on KIM activities and will have the opportunity to assist with delivery of the different KIM functions across knowledge and records management, freedom of information, data protection, and information assurance. Delivering at pace I have a positive and focused attitude to achieving outcomes, despite setbacks. I regularly review my performance against objectives, making suggestions for improvement or taking corrective action where necessary. I consider relevant policies, procedures, and legislation when completing my work. I regularly review the success of activities I contribute to and identify barriers to progress, proactively suggesting how we can overcome these in the future. I formulate clear plans and prioritise effectively to complete tasks and activities. About you We’re looking for an organised individual with strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Previous experience within knowledge and information management is desirable, however this is an entry level KIM role particularly suitable for anyone with strong customer service and administrative skills who has a willingness to learn about knowledge and information management. This role requires the successful candidate to complete a Level 4 apprenticeship in Data Protection and Information Governance.
