SEMH Mentor – School Transition Support
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEMH Mentor to support children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The role focuses on helping pupils successfully transition back into school, or supporting them within the school setting to re-engage with learning and develop positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for pupils with SEMH needs.
* Support students in building resilience, emotional regulation, and confidence.
* Assist with reintegration plans, ensuring pupils settle back into school routines successfully.
* Work closely with school staff, families, and external professionals to create consistent support strategies.
* Provide curriculum-based learning support and tuition where appropriate (desirable but not essential).
Requirements
* Substantial experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
* Strong knowledge of the school curriculum.
* Experience in delivering tuition is desirable but not essential.
* Child-Only Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential.
