Your next role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a BI Developer to join our data team and help drive our data strategy forward. Having access to meaningful information for decision-making is key to delivering our future Swindon 2028 vision.
In this role, you will join a dedicated team and work closely with our Principal Data Engineer to create innovative solutions to complex data challenges. You will also collaborate with our Data Governance Manager and Data Stewards to ensure datasets are accurate, high quality, and ready to support business insight. This role offers the opportunity to influence changes in business practice by providing leadership and guidance on the effective use of new technologies.
We are looking for someone who can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will use your expertise to translate business requirements into intuitive, actionable visual reports and dashboards that help our partners thrive.
The successful candidate will have:
* You have Strong experience in SQL and Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and report development.
* Experience working with Azure-based data platforms (e.g. Fabric, Azure SQL, Data Lake) and a good understanding of data warehouse and lake concepts.
* The ability to design and maintain optimised data models (star and snowflake schemas) to support high-performance reporting and analytics.
* An inquisitive mindset with the ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical audiences.
* Strong collaboration skills, with experience working alongside stakeholders to understand requirements and unlock the value of their data.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
