Post Summary
The Divisional Operations Director is responsible for the operational delivery of high-performing, qualitative clinical services across a specific division. The role involves coordinating and prioritising the efficient delivery of services on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all safety, quality, and patient access standards are met within agreed resources. You will be expected to foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and person-centred care.
Core Accountabilities
* Operational Leadership: Lead the division’s day-to-day operations to ensure high-quality emergency, elective, and specialist care.
* Performance Management: Monitor and deliver on key performance indicators and patient access standards.
* Financial Management: Direct responsibility for the division’s financial health, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
* Delivery & Workforce Planning: Oversee strategic workforce planning to ensure safe staffing levels and long-term service sustainability.
* Line Management: Directly line manage Divisional Heads of Nursing and Integrated Professions, while overseeing the work of Finance and HR Business Partners.
Shared Responsibilities
Working as part of a triumvirate leadership team alongside the Divisional Clinical Chair and Divisional Head of Nursing, you will share responsibility for:
* Quality & Patient Experience: Ensuring the highest standards of clinical effectiveness and safety.
* Strategy & Development: Contributing to divisional strategy and specialty development.
* Collaborative Working: Building strong partnerships across different environments to enhance care and identify innovation opportunities.
