Position: Nursery Manager
Salary: Up to £45,000 (based on experience and contract)
Location: Monkey Puzzle day Nursery, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 2ED
Reports to: Nursery Director

Your Journey
As a Nursery Manager, you'll build bonds with parents and children every day. On your daily walkarounds, you'll touch base with your team members, giving them the opportunity to give you necessary updates. You'll be passionate about leading and supporting a team.
Working closely with Deputy Manager and Senior Management, you'll support the day to day running of the setting to achieve excellent standards within the nursery.
You'll be a role model in the nursery and influence the setting with your positive and professional attitude. You'll be a caring and compassionate leader who sincerely cares for your team and the children in your nursery.
Your Role
* Ensure all policies and procedures embedded in the setting; with safeguarding being paramount
* Ensure excellent standards across all areas of the setting are maintained and developed to provide the best outcomes for our children and families
* Lead your team to deliver outstanding education in line with all aspects of the EYFS curriculum in a creative, passionate and inspiring way
* Strong people leadership and role modelling to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive as a team
* Be a people leader – recruiting, developing, and nurturing a brilliant team
* Champion safeguarding and wellbeing, acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead when needed
* Take ownership of your nursery's performance, delivering commercial success while maintaining our quality
* Keep our nursery environment safe – overseeing our health and safety, risk assessments, and EYFS compliance to make sure everything runs smoothly and safely.
* Ensure that all the requirements for Ofsted and other legislative bodies are adhered to.
* To market the nursery effectively to build occupancy and attract prospective parents
* Strong partnership with parents and external agencies to support every child's learning, development and well being
* To attend Leadership and Management meetings & relevant trainings when required.

* Collaborating with our sister nursery to build the family feel community and bring the values to life

* Building caring relationships with children, families, your team and the local community
* Leading your team to be the best childcare educators through your guidance, passion and drive
* Communicating with your team and the families at your nursery through regular updates
* Welcoming new employees and new children into the nursery and implementing plans for them effectively, then supporting them with continued development plans
* Ensuring the settings are well-staffed and have the necessary provisions to provide high-quality, educational childcare to the children
* Evaluating the performance in your setting and making improvements on a continuous basis
* Monitoring the children's learning and development and the reports with the family and staff members
* Advising Room Leaders on initiatives and by actively developing their skills being a responsible and supportive role model
Ideally you will have
* Two years of previous experience as a Nursery Manager (required).
* Experience of large nursery (desirable).
* Experience in retaining and hiring new team members.
* A firm knowledge of Ofsted standards and requirements, Ofsted preparations and responsibilities
* Knowledge of local authority and regulatory requirements and inspection processes across the UK.
* A background in leading consistent and exceptional customer service.
* Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above). A Level 6 qualification is desirable.
* Paediatric First Aid (12 hours), First Aid at Work, and a commitment to remain compliant.
* Relevant safeguarding/child protection training and be willing to update that training regularly.
* A genuine passion for education and changing the lives of children.
* A love for building and maintaining strong parent partnerships.
* A solid decision-maker with the ability to support and achieve our vision.
