Daily Rate: £100-£160 (depending on experience and responsibilities)

Secondary schools across Northampton are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to take on Unqualified Science Teacher roles starting in February 2026. These full-time, long-term positions are perfect for graduates or career-changers wanting to explore teaching and gain hands-on school-based experience before pursuing formal teacher training.
Whether your background is in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or another scientific field, this is a fantastic chance to develop your skills in a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.
Your Role Will Include:
Supporting and assisting with Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Helping students understand scientific concepts through practical activities and clear explanations
Encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving
Managing classroom behaviour with guidance from qualified teachers
Assisting with marking, assessments, and lesson preparation
Participating in professional development and school-wide initiatives
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Holds a degree in a Science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biomedical Science)
Has a genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of young people
Demonstrates confidence, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills
Is adaptable, proactive, and open to feedback
May be considering a future route into teacher training (PGCE, SCITT, or QTS Apprenticeship)
Has (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
