Freeman King Construction Limited, is a family led main contracting business, operating in the home counties and beyond for its valued clients. We are currently prominent in all types of residential and commercially led sector-based construction, particularly the new build, quasi refurbishment upgrades and sizeable extensions to real estate and property / change of use / fit out / retrofit special projects. A typical project for us ranges anything form £2,000, to £5,000,0000, with an exciting, secured pipeline accompanied by opportunity to work on our own developments in year 2.
Details about the role
Due to our continued growth, we are looking to make a strategic business acquisition in the form of a construction manager. This is a full-time on-site role for a Construction Manager at Freeman King Construction Limited located in Welwyn Garden City, but with duties across the whole portfolio of FK projects due to the current size of our growing team. The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing construction projects, managing project budgets, ensuring construction safety practices are followed, and controlling project timelines.
The right person will be a solution creator, innovative in their approach and ways of thinking, ultimately endorsing a can-do attitude. This role is for someone who wants to accelerate their career and not plod; you will become a part of the Senior Leadership Team from Day 1.
What we need from you (Qualifications / skills required)
* Supervisory Skills
* Solid competency with using a computer and all the relevant software akin to project and construction management of projects / programmes of work
* Organised and can manage several jobs simultaneously
* Budgeting skills
* Construction Safety knowledge
* Project Control expertise
* Experience in construction management
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Ability to work well under pressure
* Relevant degree or certification in Construction Management or related field (or someone who is in the process of obtaining a qualification
* MCIOB or another accreditation is desired, or the applicant is on a pathway to achieving same (which the company will actively support and subsidise).
