Senior Health & Safety Manager – EDF (UK)
Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, England. Full‑time, permanent role with minimum 4 days a week on site.
Opportunity
Join the Site Construction Management team at Hinkley Point C, the UK’s most ambitious nuclear project. Reporting directly to the Head of Construction Health & Safety, you will be instrumental in setting and maintaining the highest standards of health, wellbeing and safety across the site. Your influence will span from operatives on the ground to senior leaders in the boardroom, driving continuous improvement and a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the trusted deputy to the Head of Construction Health & Safety, managing departmental activities and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
* Develop and implement Principal Contractor arrangements and collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to drive innovation and improvement programmes.
* Manage relationships with regulators such as the ONR, support emergency response planning and oversee departmental budgets.
* Lead safety messaging, coach senior managers and promote a proactive safety culture across the site.
* Support the development of a strong nuclear safety culture and ensure teams are trained, supported and empowered to succeed.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in large‑scale construction projects, ideally within EPC environments.
* Deep understanding of health, safety and environmental standards, nationally and internationally.
* Chartered member (or working towards) a recognised HSE organisation; NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
* Strong leadership skills, behavioural leadership, emergency response planning and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to navigate CDM Regulations and Nuclear Site Licence Conditions.
* Mandatory security vetting – must have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
