Overview
Our client, a prestigious US law firm with offices worldwide, is seeking an ambitious Associate to join its Finance practice in London. The London office is a key hub for the firm’s global operations and a focal point for complex cross-border finance mandates.
The Finance group is at the centre of the firm’s corporate offering, advising sophisticated investors and financial institutions on innovative transactions across the capital structure. This role offers the chance to work with leading partners on cutting-edge financings while gaining early exposure to clients and significant responsibility from the outset.
The Role
As an Associate in the Finance team, you will be involved in a wide variety of high-value and intellectually demanding matters. Typical work includes:
* Advising on direct lending, special situations, and opportunistic credit transactions.
* Fund finance and structured/asset-backed financings.
* Domestic and international syndicated loan transactions.
* Debt capital markets and related products.
* Finance aspects of restructuring and distressed investment situations.
You will work closely with multiple partners across complementary practice areas and benefit from the support of a highly collaborative team.
Requirements
* 1–5 years’ PQE, qualified in England & Wales.
* Prior experience in a top-tier finance practice, ideally within a US, Magic Circle, or Silver Circle firm.
* Broad technical ability across one or more relevant workstreams, with an appetite to develop into a well-rounded finance lawyer.
* Commercial acumen and the ability to advise sophisticated investor clients including credit funds, hedge funds, PE houses, and portfolio companies.
* Strong academic background and excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
