We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Project Manager to join a key national programme based across Aldermaston and AWB sites. You will be instrumental in the successful delivery of strategic objectives, managing complex workstreams and ensuring the highest standards of project governance.
Day rate: Up to £500 per day inside IR35
Location: Aldermaston, 3 days a week on site
Duration: 6 months with likely extensions
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to provide vital project management support to the Mk4A Programme. You will be responsible for end-to-end project lifecycle management, driving delivery across multiple critical work areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Governance and Control: Create, manage, and maintain all core project products, including detailed RAIDO logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Opportunities) and comprehensive project schedules, ensuring alignment with Programme Office standards.
* Strategic Approvals: Prepare and submit robust business and commitment cases to secure approvals for essential resources and delivery activities quickly.
* Delivery Assurance: Drive the delivery of all project milestones across designated Programme Areas, ensuring strict adherence to agreed schedules and escalating deviations promptly.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Technical Leads, Programme Authority Holders, and external Suppliers, ensuring transparent communication and documentation of all key decisions.
* Capability Building: Play a vital role in knowledge and skills transfer to internal Crown Servants to build enduring internal project management capability within the team.
* Issue Resolution: Act as a key escalation point to resolve critical delivery issues promptly and effectively.
What You'll Bring:
* Active DV Clearance is Essential.
* Proven, hands-on experience in complex Project Management within a highly regulated or security-focused environment.
* Expertise in producing and managing detailed project schedules and timelines.
* In-depth knowledge and experience managing Project Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, and Opportunities (RAIDO).
* Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and technical teams.
