To assist in the delivery ofhigh risk specialist foot care and clinical treatment to patients of theRotherham area and carry out a variety of admin duties.To work as a member of the integrated SpecialistPodiatry team as well as Community Podiatry team.This role ideally suits an individual who enjoys avaried role with an emphasis on patient centred care. This role will involveworking with a variety of patient groups in various setting both clinical andnon-clinical environments as deemed suitable by the Podiatry Lead.The role will see you work with other team membersbut also on an individual basis to support team members and patients asrequired.The Post holder will assist in nail surgery, havevarious admin duties as well as providing treatments for patients and supportour Diabetes Podiatry team with wound care. The post holder will also have theopportunity once competencies have been met to facilitate their own clinics.Podiatry assistants will experience the full scopeof Podiatry dealing with a diverse group of people of various ages in a varietyof settings, the need to move between different settings is vital.
Main duties of the job
* To provide clinical support to the podiatrist in the delivery, treatment and care to the population of Rotherham District, at various clinical and non-clinical sites, as directed by the Podiatry Service Manager, this will include assisting with wound care, nail surgery, as well as doing own clinic once competencies have been met.
* To be responsible for providing a defined range of podiatric care, conforming to the PCTs minimum standards
* Actively promote the Podiatry profession to all stakeholders.
* Check equipment as required and document to show has been checked.
* To work following instruction of the responsible Podiatrist providing care and advice with a specific remit.
* Provide a defined range of podiatric care independently.
* Booking of clinics, liaising with Podiatrists and admin staff as required.
