Job title: Sales Engineer — Meter and pumping systems mounted to road tankers

Role summary:
You will combine engineering know how with consultative sales to win new business and grow key accounts for the Trident system and associated ancillaries (Remote control, Additive injection, online portal tracking system). This is a UK and Eire wide role; expect regular travel to customer sites.
Key responsibilities:
· Manage full sales cycle: prospect, technical scoping, quoting, negotiation, closing, and commissioning.
· Produce accurate, commercial proposals (equipment + installation + commissioning).
· Maintain & grow named accounts (tanker operators, distributors, OEMs).
· Provide technical product demonstrations; product specification to application (flow rate, accuracy, ancillary products).
· Liaise with engineering, service, and procurement to ensure delivery and commissioning deadlines.
· Maintain CRM, pipeline and sales forecasts; achieve target revenue and margin KPIs.
· Travel UK wide; occasional international travel possible.
Essential (must have):
· Engineering background (mechanical, fluid/chemical, or similar).
· Proven track record in B2B technical sales, demonstrate closed deals for pumps/meters, or industrial flow equipment.
· Strong technical communication skills and able to translate customer needs into technical specification, and commercial proposal.
· Experience preparing quotes and commercial terms.
· Account management experience with evidence of growing revenue in named accounts.
· Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel 40–60% (typical for UK wide role).
Desirable
· HNC/HND/BEng or practical field engineering experience.
· Experience with tanker metering products and suppliers (positive displacement meters, electronic totalisers, load controllers, pneumatic applications).
· Knowledge of custody transfer standards, calibration traceability and site safety.
· Familiarity with diesel/kerosene/chemical handling, EU standards for carriage of dangerous goods.
