Our Building Services team is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the team on-site at one of our projects in London.
The purpose of the role is to undertake planned preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, and new installation work covering a wide range of electrical equipment, services, systems, and buildings associated with the operation of a large hospital.
What you’ll do:
* Support Operations Management in providing a 24-hour maintenance service within the hospital.
* Work safely on ELV/LV and generated electrical systems in accordance with all statutory electrical regulations and health and safety legislation, acting as the appointed Competent Person (LV) for Skanska Facility Services.
* Maintain hospital equipment, plant, services, and systems, including inspection and testing of electrical equipment and installations, including portable appliances.
* Carry out electrical installations for new work or alterations in compliance with IEE Regulations, HSWA, HTM’s, and other applicable regulations or legislation.
* Perform basic mechanical services works to a competent level as outlined in the electrical-to-mechanical conversion course on plant, equipment, and services.
What you’ll bring to the role:
* Specify, source, and order specialist materials and equipment required for tasks within the Estates Department.
* Take responsibility for your professional development and supervise apprentices, trainees, and support workers.
* Hold a BTEC/HNC or City & Guilds Craft certificate or equivalent, with a recognised apprenticeship, and a current Certificate in 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
* Experience in building maintenance and systems, hospital environment, and working on specialist hospital equipment.
* Experience of lone working and knowledge of hospital specifics (HTMs).
* Supervise maintenance assistants, evaluate work undertaken by staff or subcontractors, and demonstrate flexibility and a positive attitude.
