About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a newly established Specialist Resource Base (SRB) within a primary school in central Cardiff.
This specialist provision will offer a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with complex needs, ensuring every child and their family feels valued and supported. The SRB will provide a tailored, highly differentiated curriculum using specialist strategies to help pupils thrive.
The school is an inner-city setting serving a diverse and sometimes challenging community. It takes pride in its relational approach, with a strong focus on building positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
Support high-quality teaching for pupils with complex additional learning needs
Use specialist strategies to support communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families
Champion inclusion and wellbeing across the school
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience or knowledge of specialist approaches (e.g. Makaton, Total Communication)
Has a strong understanding of child development and additional learning needs
Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Is patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting children with additional needs

Important Information
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
