The Role:
As a Data Engineer, you will play a central role in designing, building and evolving a sophisticated central data platform that underpins critical investment decisions and analytics capability.
Working within a high‑performing Data Analytics team, your focus will be on delivering robust, scalable pipelines, maintaining data integrity, and continuously enhancing the platform to meet evolving business needs.
This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced, intellectually demanding environment where you will collaborate closely with technical experts and business stakeholders, contributing directly to high‑impact outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop high‑quality data pipelines, integrating data from external vendors and internal sources into a central platform.
* Enhance and evolve platform architecture to meet complex and changing analytical requirements.
* Ensure the reliability, quality and availability of data critical to investment processes.
* Monitor, test and troubleshoot platform performance to maintain operational excellence.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders to improve data accessibility and usability.
* Contribute to continuous improvement, adopting modern tools, technologies and best practices.
About You:
We are looking for a highly capable, intellectually curious Data Engineer who thrives in a high‑performance environment. You will be motivated, detail‑oriented and comfortable taking ownership of complex technical challenges.
You are likely to bring:
* 3–6 years’ experience in data engineering or a related field.
* A strong academic background, typically a 2:1 or above from a leading university.
* Excellent A‑Level results (or equivalent), demonstrating consistent academic achievement.
* Proven expertise in building and optimising data pipelines.
* Strong technical capability in SQL, Python and cloud platforms such as AWS.
* Experience with tools such as Git and Airflow.
* A track record of improving data quality, reliability and platform performance.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
* A proactive mindset, with a genuine passion for learning and solving complex problems.
