As a key leader in our Flood Risk Management team, you will shape projects across sectors such as Aviation, Cities & Development, Education, Energy, and Transportation, within a Water Management Consultancy.

Your role
* Develop and agree scope of services, manage and supervise junior resources, and actively progress projects under your control.
* Apply project procedures for finance, change control, report writing, presentation, and quality assurance. Produce client‑facing reports and lead hydraulic modelling and data analysis.
* Support project managers and directors on strategic infrastructure projects and internal consultancy services.
* Lead bidding activities and promote the organisation’s capabilities through industry credentials.
* Manage and supervise junior resources, following project procedures, including finance and change control, and actively progress suite of projects.
* Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners to ensure a consistent integrated service for clients.
* Lead business‑development activities, tendering for projects, client and stakeholder engagement, and agree scope, costs, and resources.
* Conduct and lead detailed technical work: hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS, and technical reporting, ensuring quality assurance.
* Contribute to the continued development of the Flood Risk Team through active leadership in the technical network.
About You
* Qualifications: Degree in Geography, Science or Civil Engineering, ideally an MSc or further postgraduate qualification. Chartered status (CIWEM or ICE) is expected.
* Experience: Flood risk management with demonstrated project delivery. Significant experience in flood risk analyses for planning, development, and design.
* Leadership: Experience developing and leading technical teams and mentoring staff.
* Project Management: Commercial, contractual and financial management, project programming. Track record of meeting client expectations and maximising commercial performance.
* Technical Proficiency: Expert in 1‑D/2‑D modelling using Infoworks ICM, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW/ESTRY, HEC‑RAS, FEH hydrological assessment, and UK hydrology methods.
* Motivation: Highly motivated, self‑driven, enthusiastic for winning activities.
* Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication for collaborative work.
* Adaptability: Flexibility and willingness to tackle new challenges.
* Organisation: Well‑organised, able to lead multiple projects and non‑project activities, recognising delegation opportunities.
