The Welsh Cheese Company is proud to champion the very best artisan cheeses made in Wales. Our new deli/ cheese & wine bar opened a few months ago in Cardiff and we're looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, food-loving team supervisor to join our fantastic team.
The Role
As a Deli Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of our new shop / bar, working alongside our manager. You'll be welcoming customers, preparing beautifulcheeseboards, cutting and selling cheese, making hot food, serving coffee and other drinks and helping create a relaxed and memorable experience in both our daytime shop and evening wine bar.
You will often be in charge of the shop, leading a small team of colleagues.
This role offers between 30 and 40 hours per week, and will include regular evening and weekend shifts. You will also be required to work occasional shifts at our Taffs Well location (which has good public transport links).
Key Responsibilities
* Serving customers behind our cheese counter
* Sharing your knowledge of Welsh cheeses and products (training provided)
* Leading a small team of colleagues when the manager isn't working
* Preparing exceptional cheeseboards, Welsh rarebits and other simple menu options for eat-in customers
* Serving wine and other drinks to customers
* Using an espresso machine to create various types of coffee (training provided)
* Assisting with stock rotation, cleaning and general shop duties
* Assisting in planning and delivering events and tastings
* Sometimes opening and closing the shop
* Sometimes running the shop single-handedly
What We're Looking For
* At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role in deli/ wine bar/ other food service setting is highly desirable
* Welsh language skills are highly desirable
* A friendly, customer-focused approach
* Self-motivated, dependable and proactive
* Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
* A love of great food and interest in Welsh produce

Hours
30- 40 hrs per week including some evening and weekend shifts.
Pay
£13.25 per hour plus tips
