Main duties of the job

You are an experienced Registered Children’s Nurse with a professional approach to delivering high quality, patient focused care and the ability to lead others to do so.

1. Worked a variety of acute/community settings
2. Experience in acute paediatric nursing.
3. Experience of acting as mentor – coach – preceptor
4. Experience in undertaking staff appraisal / development
5. Understanding of the Clinical Governance Process
6. Experience of teaching students, HCA’s and qualified staff
Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
7. Registered Nurse Child
8. Mentorship Qualification
9. Diploma or Degree
10. Evidence of continued professional development
11. Safeguarding Level 3 training
Skills, Ability & Knowledge
Essential criteria
12. Highly skilled clinical practitioner with experience within acute settings
13. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, relatives and MDT team in English
14. Ability to work required shift pattern as required across the division
15. Knowledge of up to date issues for children’s and young people with health needs
16. High motivation and ability to motivate others
17. Knowledge of evidence informed and research based practice
18. Computer literate Good time management skills
19. Ability to work within a team and independently Managerial and leadership ability
20. Ability to resolve conflict/dispute in a non-confrontational manner
21. Insight into the needs of the Trust and Regional and Government initiatives
22. Good verbal and written communication skills to enable liaison with patients, relatives and multi-disciplinary team and to produce concise written reports and notes to produce concise written reports and notes.
