Your new role
Southend City Council are looking to appoint a full-time Personal Advisor within a fixed term capacity until March 2026.
Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 3 days a week.
The new Personal Advisor will act as the focal point to make sure that a young person leaving care gets the right support as they move into adulthood.Work closely with young people to create personalised and tailored pathway needs assessments and pathway plans.
* Act as an advocate for Care Leavers, promoting equality and opportunities. Supporting Care Leavers to access housing, education, employment and health to achieve positive outcomes.
* Manage a caseload of separated migrant young people and Care Leavers, maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively to deliver high quality support and services.
* Work closely as a team to improve services for Care Leavers.
* Act as a Corporate Parent and adhere to all duties set out in relevant legislation.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you must have previously worked within front line services, preferably with young people, along with a qualification within social work, careers, education, equivalent to NVQ Level 4.
