Tutor/Mentor – Leigh (WN7)
We are looking for dedicated and adaptable tutors to support young people in the Leigh (WN7) area. This role goes beyond academic tutoring – it’s about mentoring, building confidence, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
You will work 1:1 with learners who may be out of school, struggling with attendance, or in need of extra guidance during key transitions. Sessions may take place during the school day or in the school holidays, either at home or in a community setting.
Your role will include:
* Providing tuition in core subjects to close gaps in learning
* Mentoring and supporting social and emotional development
* Encouraging positive engagement and improved attendance
* Assisting with reintegration back into school environments
* Supporting pupils through transition stages with tailored guidance
We’re looking for:
* Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or similar)
* A patient, flexible, and supportive approach to learning and wellbeing
* Ability to adapt sessions to meet individual needs and goals
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
