We are looking for a Band 6 OT who shares our commitment to person-centred care and teamwork, and who is motivated to make a meaningful difference, to join our female older persons mental health ward.
You will join a warm and supportive Occupational Therapy team. Occupational Therapy is highly valued within our service and plays a central role in recovery-focused and strengths-based care.
As a Senior OT, you will be fully embedded within the MDT, working collaboratively to support meaningful occupation, recovery and independence.
You will have an active voice in shaping/evaluating the Occupational Therapy pathway, and supporting a culture of learning, innovation and service improvement.
We offer regular clinical supervision and OT forums that promote shared learning and peer support and regular support/guidance from a Practice Development Occupational Therapist, particularly around leadership and service development.
Our service is growing and evolving with a renewed focus on embedding culture of care, inclusive practice and staff wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and discharge planning. They will utilise occupational therapy models, theory and up-to-date evidence-based practice to inform clinical decision-making and deliver effective, meaningful interventions that promote independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
Working autonomously and with a high level of professional accountability, the post holder will carry out comprehensive and specialist occupational therapy assessments, including functional, cognitive, environmental and occupational performance assessments. These assessments will directly inform MDT formulations, risk management approaches and person-centred care plans, ensuring that the individual's strengths, needs, preferences and goals remain central to all interventions.
In addition to delivering one-to-one interventions, the post holder will take a lead role in establishing, coordinating and evaluating a structured and meaningful therapeutic group programme on the ward. This will include working collaboratively with colleagues across the MDT to design and facilitate groups that reflect shared expertise, maximise patient engagement and support recovery-focused outcomes.
As a senior clinician, the post holder will demonstrate clinical leadership, contribute to the support and management staff and students.

Person Specification
Experience
* Post qualification experience of working in mental health and/or with older people.
* Experience of supervising others.
Qualifications
* HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
