We are looking for a new Buyer employee to be based in Kendal.
Summary: This Buyer (Direct) role will be coordinating activities involved with procuring direct materials, components and equipment.
What a typical day looks like:
* Placing orders for necessary raw materials and purchased parts according to the requirements of the production and managing purchase orders.
* Regular, weekly check of the stocks, avoiding overstock and minimizing the risk of obsolescence with the help of the weekly check of the obsolete report.
* Correspondence with the freight forwarders, warehouses, and in case organizing the transportation.
* Dealing with claims, settling debit and credit issues.
* Investigation inventory levels and checking the inventory of critical materials (personally if needed) according to the Shortage List
* Getting in touch with the right warehouse personnel and having the discrepancy modified if there is any inventory discrepancies.
* Assuring all active components according to production needs, in time, for the accord price in the request.
* Confer with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
* Manages supplier to price, delivery and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate.
* Conducts quarterly supplier reviews.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
* At least 1 year of procurement experience.
* Good MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) skills
* Knowledge of an ERP software
* CIPS qualification is preferred
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
* Eligibility to work in the UK
