Overview
Cardiac Physiologist role at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post involves working within a busy Cardiology department providing a range of complex cardiology investigations and producing detailed and evidence-based clinical reports. The post would suit a newly or recently qualified Cardiac Physiologist/PTP looking for a springboard to further their career. The service is flexible and patient-centered, respecting privacy and dignity at all times, and adherence to Trust health and safety policies is required.
Work may include out-of-hours and weekend duties as required to ensure safe and equitable service delivery. The post holder should liaise closely with patients and their carers to explain procedures and results as appropriate. The role may involve dealing with acutely unwell or distressed patients, ensuring courteous and prompt care while maintaining comfort and dignity where possible.
Responsibilities
* Ensure clinical safety standards are met when supervising all rehabilitation sessions in line with service policies.
* Maintain all records associated with the Cardiac Physiology Team in an organised and confidential manner in accordance with Code of Conduct and Caldicott Principles.
* Prepare clinical areas and maintain clinical equipment, reporting any faults immediately to line manager / service lead.
* Assist in the daily cleaning and regular cleaning of equipment as per infection prevention and control standards.
* Perform supervision of assistants and students as necessary.
Requirements / Qualifications
* The post would suit a newly or recently qualified Cardiac Physiologist/PTP
* Experience performing a range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations according to grade and within scope of training
* Able to liaise with patients with varying communication needs and explain procedures and results as appropriate
