Job Description
1. Surveying sites where electrical systems are installed
2. Installing, maintaining, modifying and repairing all electrical systems in public spaces and buildings
3. Ensuring that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical safety standards and regulations
4. Supervising ongoing electrical system installations and providing technical expertise to installation teams where needed
5. Identifying electrical problems and repairing them
6. Advising the company’s management when to replace aged electrical equipment to prevent hazards
7. Conducting general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting electrical issues with testing equipment
8. Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
9. Perform general electrical maintenance
10. Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components
11. Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices
12. Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures
13. Circuit breaker corrective maintenance
14. Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems
15. Good knowledge of various test equipment
16. Experience working as an electrician
17. Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints and maintenance and repair knowledge
18. Experience in renewable energy field.
Qualifications
19. One main trade qualification (or time served trades experience) e.g. NVQ 2, NVQ 3
20. Experience in testing, inspection, and maintenance of electrical installations
21. An appropriate knowledge of health and safety legislation
22. Have current Health & Safety Training certificates (including, but not limited to, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling, Risk Assessments)
23. Extensive domestic electrical experience (preferably from a social housing environment)
24. Demonstrate a high level of customer care
25. Up-to-date electrician’s licence.
26. 2-3 years residential, commercial or industrial electrical experience.
27. Experience with new builds, renovations and historical restoration projects.
28. Associate’s degree in electrical technology preferred.
29. High school diploma or GCSE.
