Overview
We are Civica, a software provider delivering services for local government, education, health, and care. Our aim is to support citizens and public sector organisations through technology solutions.
Responsibilities
* Deploy Civica applications on environments for customers and internal use within the end-to-end software delivery life cycle
* Configure, administer and maintain multiple Oracle database instances as required
* Configure and maintain application servers
* Collaborate with project teams during software release and patching
* Contribute to design and build of new systems, including high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
* Validate and advise on platform suitability for Clinical Systems software installations
* Perform daily system monitoring to ensure integrity and availability of server resources and respond to alerts
* Participate in weekly support rota and provide out-of-hours implementation and service delivery as needed
* Monitor backups and align with supported backup strategies
* Support planning and execution of Service Pack upgrades
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues within defined SLAs, diagnose hardware or software faults
* Assist with performance monitoring and tuning (indexes, memory, CPU, disk I/O, etc.)
* Own issues through to resolution where ownership is delegated
* Adhere to change management procedures
* Maintain asset registers for internal platforms supporting the Clinical Systems product set
* Ensure technical designs, documentation, processes, and procedures are documented and maintained
* Comply with the company Quality System and Information Security Management System
* Identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency
* Test and evaluate new technology as required by business or customer needs
* Attend hosting data centres and customer premises as required
* Support pre-sales activities such as ITT responses, bids, and tenders as required
Requirements
* Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting software applications within virtual technology platforms
* Troubleshooting Windows Server 2012R2/2016/2019/2022 in enterprise environments
* Technical knowledge of hosted and remotely administered environments and infrastructure
* Security administration and best practices for server configuration
* Operational support of Oracle (11g/12c/19c/OCI)
* T-SQL and PL/SQL querying techniques
* Proactive approach to tasks and duties
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Flexible, customer-focused attitude with the ability to drive issues to completion
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to ongoing personal development and keeping skills current
* Adaptable, able to work on your own initiative
* Excellent expectations management and change adaptability
* Experience in the public healthcare sector
* Experience installing, patching, administering and maintaining Oracle and SQL Server environments
* Experience with Oracle RMAN, Data Guard, Active Cloning and Oracle Clusterware
* Experience with SQL Server Agent, Replication, Always On
* Experience with Cloud Platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
* Experience with Docker containers, Linux, Citrix, and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
