About the role:
We are looking for a experienced team leader, required to develop and grow the Indirect Procurement Team. Someone who can drive supplier improvement, identify and manage commercial risk and work with the Indirect Commodity and Sourcing Manager to drive performance improvement through collaborative process improvement, metric/scorecard management and strategy development.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
1. Experience in Supply Chain, Subcontract Management, Procurement, Commodity and/or related field
2. Experience managing a team
3. Related degree/MCIPS/BA/MBA or equivalent
4. Ability/experience to manage a medium sized team with focus on policy and strategy implementation, along with operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the sub-function.
5. Proactive, flexible and positive attitude
6. Able to lead effectively in a multi-functional team
7. Excellent verbal and written communications and ability to brief at mid/senior level
8. Knowledge of import/export legislation and logistical requirements
9. Administration of delivery/acceptance/invoicing of goods and services
10. Experience in or exposure to negotiating medium/high complexity non-standard agreements
11. Experience of problem solving and dispute resolution at senior level
12. Experience or knowledge of MRP, SAP and purchase order placement/material receipt processes
13. Experience of developing and managing subcontractor relationship management and collaborative working
14. Experience of developing supplier improvement strategies
15. Experience of working with complex international suppliers/programmes
Responsibilities
16. Development through coaching, skills gap analysis and mentoring to grow the capabilities of the Indirect Procurement Team
17. Liaising with peers from other disciplines and businesses and the Functional SLT.
18. Sources, negotiates, awards and document purchases for indirect services, and supplies.
19. Performs or supports cost and price analysis, develops negotiation strategies, and leads negotiations to create value for money outcomes for procuring goods and services.
20. Support early supplier identification and engagement for new business opportunities.
21. Utilises source selection techniques (best value, total cost of ownership etc.), performs cost analyses, conducts negotiations, and identifies supplier risks.
22. Provide risk and opportunity analysis for introduction of new suppliers to mitigate risks with regard to early supplier decisions.
23. Ensures that requirements (prime contract, quality, terms and conditions) are properly communicated to suppliers.
24. Manages supplier performance to cost, schedule and quality requirements.
25. Interfaces with internal and supplier cross-functional organisations.
26. Assists in the development of tenders and agreements.
27. Executes to customer requirements including government regulations, public law and Raytheon policies and procedures.
28. Works with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve collaborative partnering and strategic relationship management to deliver value for the organisation
29. Contribute to the creation of business capture strategies by recommending strategic choices to improve the organisation’s short- and long-term performance
30. Actively promotes the contributions that the function can make to achieving corporate objectives across the organisation, with stakeholders and with the supply chain
31. Continually assesses and promotes sustainable and responsible procurement, including social, cultural and diversity values in the organisation and throughout the supply chain
32. Facilitates relationships between functional organisations and suppliers.
33. Utilises project management skills and techniques when managing suppliers.
34. Initiates and participates in supplier assessments and development activities.
35. Produces support data or business cases/ briefing materials for management reviews
36. Participates / leads supplier assessments and supplier development activity teams, including the administration of appropriate due diligence activity
