Job overview: Trainee Sewing Machine Operator will focus on hands-on learning and practical application of basic sewing machine skills. The trainee will assist experienced operators, learn to operate various machines, and perform quality checks under supervision. You will gain experience in preparing materials, setting up machines, and troubleshooting common issues.

* Manual Dexterity: Hand-eye coordination for operating sewing machines and handling materials.
* Physical Endurance: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
* Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
* Adaptability: Openness to learning new skills and techniques.
* Basic Sewing Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of stitches, sewing techniques, and basic fabric handling, would be an advantage.
Key Tasks:
* Preparing sewing machines for production runs, including threading, setting tension, and adjusting needle positions.
* Learning to operate different types of sewing machines, such as straight stitch machines, overlockers, and buttonhole machines.
* Assisting with the preparation of fabric, thread, and other materials for sewing.
* Inspecting seams, stitching, and overall product quality for defects.
* Learning basic cleaning and maintenance procedures for sewing machines.
* Identifying and reporting simple machine problems to experienced operators.
* Actively participating in training programs to enhance sewing machine skills and knowledge.
* Collaborating with experienced operators and team members to optimize production efficiency.
* Always Adhere to Health and Safety regulations.
* Ensure good working relations are always maintained with colleagues.
* Ensure that absenteeism and tardiness are kept to a minimum.
* Ensure that company policies are always adhered to within the department, this includes the Equal Opportunities Policy, Harassment Policy, Health and Safety Policy and Training Policy.
* Any other reasonable duties requested.
