Overview
An established and growing commercial heating and plumbing contractor is seeking an experienced and proactive Commercial Installation Manager to join its commercial team. This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to take full ownership of complex commercial installation projects while leading and developing on-site delivery teams.
The role is ideally suited to a hands-on manager with strong experience in commercial heating, plumbing or HVAC, particularly within plant room environments. You will play a central role in project delivery, team leadership and client engagement, contributing directly to the continued growth and success of the business.
Role Purpose
As Commercial Installation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of commercial heating, ventilation and plumbing projects. This will include initial planning and mobilisation, on-site delivery, coordination of resources and final client handover. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Project Management
You will oversee all aspects of commercial installation projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. You will strategically manage team capacity and project timelines to support the successful delivery of approximately two plant room installations per month. You will develop and manage project schedules, resource plans and budgets, while ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations and internal company policies.
Team Leadership
You will manage, mentor and motivate a team of installation engineers, supporting performance, development and engagement. You will actively participate in recruitment activities to build and grow delivery teams, ensuring the department has the resources required to meet operational targets. You will conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews and work closely with other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
Client and Stakeholder Management
You will act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing clear communication, regular updates and proactive issue resolution. You will build strong, collaborative client relationships to support satisfaction and repeat business. You will also conduct on-site meetings and project walkthroughs to ensure client requirements and expectations are met.
Sales Support and Business Development
You will work closely with the sales team, providing technical input and operational insight to support tender submissions and ensure proposed solutions are feasible and commercially viable. You will assist with the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates, supporting the achievement of sales and growth targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
You will have a minimum of three years experience in a management or supervisory role within the commercial plumbing, heating or HVAC sectors. You will have proven experience managing complex installation projects, particularly within plant rooms or similar commercial environments. Strong project management skills are essential, including budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation. You will demonstrate strong leadership capability with a proven ability to motivate, develop and manage teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively manage clients and stakeholders. A relevant qualification such as NVQ or City and Guilds in a mechanical or plumbing discipline is highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary and a pay review will be conducted following successful completion of probation, with annual pay reviews each March. Holiday entitlement is 33 days per year including bank holidays, with an additional birthday day off after one year of successful service. You will be enrolled into a company pension scheme after three months of employment and private medical insurance following successful completion of probation.
