Waking Nights - Male and Female Schemes £26,552 a year Stoke-on-Trent Hours per week 40 Contract type Permanent As a Waking Night Worker you’ll be the first point of contact to customers at our 24/7 schemes during the night. You’ll provide support, manage access to the building, carry out health and safety checks and deal with any emergencies. You’ll work independently, with support from the Scheme Manager, using your initiative to understand and identify any risks and take appropriate action when needed. You’ll have access to advice and support from our out of hours management on-call service at all times. Job requirements * Be the first point of contact at the scheme, maintaining a friendly and supportive environment and answer enquiries such as telephone calls and any other administrative duties. * Carry out regular checks of schemes, including all communal areas, monitoring doors and ensuring the scheme is secure. * Spend time talking to residents, especially those who are more likely to be seen at night. * Deal with any disputes or emergencies and keep accurate records of these throughout. Diffuse any difficult or dangerous situations and seek assistance when necessary, referring to your training that will be provided. * Work alone and visit other schemes when needed. * Provide handovers to the manager and day team every morning, detailing any incidents, safeguarding concerns of work to be handed over. What we’re looking for * Excellent communication skills. * Positive ‘can-do’ approach. * Understanding of great customer service and customer care. * Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and demands. * Able to work alone when needed. * Idea generation and implementation. * An understanding of the principles of Value for Money * DBS check. * Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle for work.
