Overview
The Information Disclosure Unit (IDU) is looking to recruit 2 temporary Information Disclosure Officers for an 18‑month fixed term contract, on a 37‑hour a week (full‑time) schedule. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 5 January 2026.
Pay Scale
Pay is based on existing FOI or Data‑Protection qualifications:
* Scale 6 (no FOI/DP qualification) – £33,603 – £35,772
* Senior Officer 1 (SO1) – with FOI or DP qualification – £37,020 – £39,276
Temporary contracts may not always offer a pathway to the SO1 uplift. Pay reviews occur at six months post‑probation and again after 12‑18 months of service, depending on joining date.
Responsibilities
The main function of the unit is to process statutory disclosures:
* Freedom of Information Requests (FOI) under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
* Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.

Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
* Experience or knowledge related to FOI or Data‑Protection requests.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
