You will be crucial to the success of our teams who provide support to adults with a learning disability within our day service in Crowborough and Lewes. As a Driver, you enrich a person’s life by providing transport to and from a person’s home into our day service in Crowborough. As a Driver role, you will be key in providing a service where people can see their friends, learn new skills and be involved in their local community. In addition, you will provide trips to people who attend our day services in Crowborough and Lewes. As a Handyperson, you will complete practical tasks that ensure a safe and respectful environment and contribute towards the safe running of the service. Our team of Support Workers provide day services to people with a learning disability with this Driver Handyperson role involves working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 5.30pm, for 37 hours per week. We are looking for candidates who: Hold a standard car licence (category B), subject to satisfactory completion of the minibus theory training and on-road practical assessment involving a 9-seater accessible vehicle. Aged 23 or over, and have held a full driving licence for at least 3 years without a fault claim or conviction Have general repair experience and able to undertake minor redecoration tasks. With experience of using DIY tools Can communicate effectively with service users and colleagues at ease, provide advice in accurate spoken English Are caring, sensitive, understanding and patient Please download the Job Description and Person Specification for more information.
