1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Behaviour Support

The Role
We’re working with a fantastic college in Walthamstow looking for a dedicated SEN TA to provide 1:1 support for a post-16 student. The learner presents with behavioural challenges and has complex SEN needs, so this role calls for someone steady, skilled, and genuinely caring.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the college day
* Help manage behaviour calmly and confidently
* Support access to learning and promote independence
* Work closely with SENCO, tutors, and pastoral staff
* Follow EHCP and behaviour plans
* Encourage engagement in academic and social activities

Ideal Candidate:
* Experienced in SEN and behaviour support
* Confident with de-escalation techniques and emotional regulation
* Familiar with ADHD, autism, and SEMH needs
* Reliable, empathetic, and firm but fair
* Experience in a college or post-16 setting is a bonus
* Creative/vocational subject background also a plus!
