Description
Wychem, an Ascensus Specialties Company, seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Plant Operator to be an integral part of our chemical manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of production processes, including manufacturing, drying, and packaging fine chemicals essential for products ranging from vital medicines to advanced display technologies. The Plant Operator will operate and monitor production equipment, troubleshoot operational issues, and actively contribute to maintaining high safety and quality standards within the facility. Collaboration with management on work scheduling, process improvement initiatives, and the promotion of a safe working environment are also key aspects of this role. Flexibility to work extended hours as required is expected.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute batch sheet processes to manufacture fine chemicals according to established safety and quality protocols.
* Operate and monitor a variety of production equipment involved in manufacturing, drying, and packaging processes.
* Maintain continuous awareness of production parameters and proactively identify and troubleshoot any operational issues or deviations.
* Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards throughout the production process.
* Collaborate effectively with management and other team members to schedule work, optimize production processes, and enhance overall efficiency.
* Actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
* Accurately document production activities, equipment status, and any incidents or deviations that occur.
* Demonstrate flexibility to work extended hours as necessary to meet production demands.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Qualifications
* A minimum of 4 GCSEs grade C or equivalent, or 1-2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or a related industry.
* Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
* Knowledge of Office 365.
* Understanding of the hazards and safety protocols when working with potentially hazardous chemicals, atmospheres, and materials, including explosive atmospheres.
Preferred Qualifications
* A Chemistry related degree or other degree in a relevant field of study.
* 3-5 years industrial experience in fine chemical or pharmaceutical manufacture.
