About the job. National Highways is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Delivery Manager (Strategic Charging Infrastructure) to join our Network Development Division. As a Senior Delivery Manager (Strategic Charging Infrastructure) you will lead the development and delivery of projects and change initiatives to support the UK's transition to electric vehicles. You will bring together expertise from across National Highways to enable coordinated, delivery-focused progress across the Strategic Charging Infrastructure portfolio. You will provide clear leadership across teams, ensuring alignment between policy, commercial, technical and delivery functions as well as engaging with key external stakeholders. This role will be based at any National Highways office location, with a balance of remote and office-based work. This role may require some travel to other offices and sites. Manage a portfolio of EV charging infrastructure initiatives, ensuring they are scoped, assured, and delivered to required schedule, budget, and strategic outcomes Oversee the end-to-end process from project initiation through to monitoring (including review of investment proposals). Provide assurance on deliverability, value for money, and alignment with national strategic charging objectives. Lead continuous improvement efforts across the Strategic Charging Infrastructure programme by capturing delivery insight and supporting knowledge transfer between projects and partners Manage stakeholder relationships by serving as a key delivery interface for delivery partners. Maintain trusted relationships to enable on-the-ground delivery and issue resolution. Provide direction and line management to Delivery Managers and/or Delivery support as appropriate. Champion collaborative working and professional development within the team. About you. Experience as a senior project or programme practitioner with expert stakeholder management skills Experience in delivering infrastructure or capital projects, ideally with or within the public sector Understanding of contract management and third-party delivery frameworks Skilled in managing delivery through external partners and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes Strong communicator, able to influence internal and external stakeholders About us.
